Availability of Names

It is becoming increasingly difficult in established offshore jurisdictions, where thousands of companies have been formed, to obtain the company name you want. As an emerging offshore jurisdiction, a wide choice of names is still available in Nevis. Additionally the companies' registry system is also able to handle company names written in foreign characters.

Following submission of the desired name of an IBC or LLC by inquirer, a registered agent/service provider can find out from the registry whether a suggested name is available and, within minutes, the name can be reserved via the Nevis Online Registration Module or by making a call to the registry. Once the name has been reserved, the Nevis IBC can be formed by filing articles of incorporation with the Registrar of Companies and the LLC can be formed by filing articles of organization. If the incorporation documents comply with the law, a certificate of incorporation will be issued.
